2016 Art Exhibit at the McDonough Library with the Visual Artists Collective

Although I really began my photography endeavors as a staff photographer for a local newspaper, I've been a freelance photographer for more than 28 years. I really enjoy experiencing the charged atmosphere of a photograph waiting to be taken. Capturing visual moments to tell a story and create special memories is what photography is all about.

Daily, we walk out our lives with haste, determination, and often frustration. What we might not realize, however, is that almost every moment of our day we leave small traces of our presence behind. Becoming aware of who and what we’re affecting causes us to reflect on our purpose in life. Choosing to create brief moments of goodness improves not only our lives, but also the lives of those we inadvertently touch.

When we travel, I love to explore. Capturing nature, historical / rustic, and scenic images and the atmosphere they offer is a rewarding challenge.

Because I believe that it is important to support the local efforts for artists, I participate in several community art groups which offer the opportunity to connect with other artists and also help to advance my creative skills.  The Henry Arts Alliance, The Visual Artists Collective, the Fayette Photographic Society, and the Heritage Writers Group play an important part of my success. My photography has hung in the Arts Clayton Gallery, The Gallery in the Grove ([VAC] Locust Grove), Henry Piedmont Hospital ([HAA]), the Hampton Depot, and the Hapeville Art Gallery.

Several times a year, I enjoy participating in community art festivals which gives me the opportunity to display and sell my work. I not only mat and frame various sizes of my images, but I also use them to create photo gifts such as photo note cards, bookmarks, mugs, jewelry, etc.

My photography has hung in the Arts Clayton Gallery, The Gallery in the Grove (2014 Featured Artist of the Month, VAC, Locust Grove), Henry Piedmont Hospital ([HAA]), the Hampton Depot, the Hapeville Art Gallery, and Allen Vigil Ford (2016 Featured Artist of the Month).

I hold a degree in Communications from Gordon State College in Georgia and Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography.
